Upcoming Major Production
Sylvia
Habersham Community Theatre will mark the end of its 2007-2008 season with Sylvia, a modern adult romantic comedy about a marriage and a dog.
A married couple, Greg and Kate, move to Manhattan after 22 years of child-raising in the suburbs. Greg’s career as a financial trader is winding down, while Kate’s career, as a public-school English teacher, is beginning to offer her more opportunities.
Greg brings home a dog he found in the park bearing only the name “Sylvia” on her name tag. Sylvia becomes a major bone of contention between husband and wife. Sylvia offers Greg an escape from the frustrations of his job and the unknowns of middle age. As for Kate, she’s a rival for Greg’s affection.
The production dates for Sylvia, directed by Millie Adcox are August 1-3, 7-9. For more information, please call the theatre at 706-839-1315

Photos and Memories
Please Share Your Memeories for Our Theater's History : Photographs of the original Habersham Theater
are needed both for interest and for documentation of the appearance of the building.
The facade has been restored to what is believed to be original.
Many interior elements
have been restored and others renovated to accommodate a live theater. Many people have
mentioned memories of attending the movie or a stage presentation at Habersham Theater.
There have been wonderful stories of first dates, Saturdays at the movie, and others. These
stories bring back wonderful memories that are worth sharing. We would be delighted for
anyone who has memories to write a note to us to tell about them.
Please send them to HCT
at P. O. Box 846, or e-mail notes to lynda@habershamtheater.org. If you would prefer to leave
a message on the theater line for someone to call you about the story, please do so.
That number is 706-839-1315. |
